Calling... Calling... Graduates with an Accounting Degree

Do you or your Company has any problem in recruiting people with an Accounting Degree? WTF is going on? Where are these grads?
  1. Is it really because our economy is so good until there are too many jobs chasing for a few accounting grads?
  2. Is it because our office location is too strategic until they turn away and looking for more remote areas?
  3. Is it because our starting pay is too high!!!? Please tell me so that I can ask the HR to cut down the amount.
  4. Is it because the quality of our education had increased so much until these young fellas could not graduate or pass the exams?
  5. Are they being kidnapped by the aliens?
  6. Too few babies being born from 1985 to 1987 due to the 1980s recession?
  7. They prefer to start up or mind their own business?
  8. F**K-lah like that?

While the country is suffering from the brain drain pandemic due to the impact of globalisation, our YB is suffering from....

Sodo-mee and Virginity

Life is full of wonders. Why? Please click here for the copy of the report.

Since we are talking about virgin, let me share with you the extract from Warren G's Virgin lyric:

... "What you want you know I got (what you want girl) [psst: We should read girl as "boy" and she as "he" instead]
The way you move is so erotic you can be my pre Madonna
Damn girl I'm so excited (so excited)
Feel it girl don't try to fight it you can be my pre Madonna
Ooooooo she's tighter than a virgin tighter than a virgin
Ooooooo she's tighter than a virgin tighter than a virgin ooooh"....

You are wondering who's that @SShole? Never mind. Watch who's talking:

Yes to Nuclear Power?

Malaysian utility Tenaga has set up a nuclear energy taskforce to look into building a nuclear power station at the request of the country's government. This is a step to cut the over reliance on the natural gas and coal.

I think we should support this project even though someone might gain from this billion ringgit project. But first, it should be built somewhere near to the Singapore island. In term of safety, it shouldn't be a problem to us since our government have a very clean records in structures maintenance. Our Parliament will be a good example.

Why near Singapore? So that each time before they open their mouths and start demanding for something, they will think twice. This is because, we might leak a few drops of the plutonium into the air. Okay..okay.. I'm not anti-SG lah, just for fun only mah.

But, make sure we move our civilians far far away from the nuclear plant lah.

As for the Scorpene submarines, we just keep it within the Malacca Straits to "jaga", "teropong" and stop the illegal immigrants from entering our country.

By the way, please don't send "this kind of team" to negotiate the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) around Pulau Batu Puteh... wtf

Merc... now Camry... Me? Civic?

1st: They bought Merc as their official cars.
2nd: Then, they want Camry.
3rd: Now, they pulak asking for Camry.

I still thinking and thinking and thinking whether I should change my car. I'm currently driving a Wira 1.3, six years' old coming this August. Hah hah, going to get my fuel rebate soon. The maintenance for my car is not so high lah compare to V6 but fuel consumption is on the high side, 20 sen/km. What's to do, this is not fuel efficient car mah.

Should I upgrade to Civic 1.8 which costs RM114K? Add few thousands more for the Modulo bodykit. My dream car. Kena ubah gaya hidup konon.....

Loan 90% for 7 years, need to fork out RM1,400 per month for the car installment. Should or should not?

With the economic and political uncertainty, we all are affected by the drop in the equities and bonds market. Hope that it will not affect my bonus!!!

Qualified yet getting peanuts?

Have you ever wondered why your colleague:
  • who does the same job as you,
  • has passed fewer exams than you, but
  • is paid more because you have less experience?

There is an argument that individuals doing the same job should be paid equally. Correct? But this is not the case.

One thing that we have to accept: We as an employee can ask for more shits but not the salaries. And this is a fact!

The more exams (I’m referring to a Master and/or PhD… hah hah) you pass, the more you’ll boost your earnings potential. There are more factors to be taken into account than paper qualifications.

Loyalty (?), with knowledge of company culture and systems (?), experience and versatility in a wide range of tasks (?), skills sets (including areas such as coaching or reports writing?), and performance standards (affecting quality and productivity?) are all important considerations.

Employers also often place a value on people based on individual assessments made by managers. I’m not talking about @$$ licking okay! It’s about aptitude!

It’s easy for us to judge ourselves as ‘better’ than our peers. But this is only our opinion mah, it’s those controlling the “$$$$$” that get to say who’s of greater value to the organization and get more pay.

However, this is not the end of the world. Always remember these:
  1. Be positive - this creates endless opportunities and reason for optimism.
  2. Instead of wallowing in resentment, identify ways in which you can increase your value to your employer.
  3. What new skills might you acquire through informal coaching or work shadowing?
  4. What extra responsibility could you ask for - even if you have to take it on without an immediate pay increase - simply to prove yourself?
  5. What tasks do you currently undertake where you could improve?
  6. In which areas of the business can you make an impact, thereby raising your profile, getting more immersed in the organisation and seeing how you can add value?
  7. Pray to the GOD!
  8. Buy more Big Sweeps! Once you strike the jackpot, no need to work lor.

People who think along those lines, rather than being bogged down in black-and-white comparisons with others, are the ones who find themselves favoured when pay reviews come around. Do you believe it or not?

Damn Tired Last Night

I went to bed at 7.30 p.m. last night after watching a DVD movie - "Senior Skip Day" and woke up at 4.30 a.m. this morning. I think it's partly because of the after the walkathon race effect. I set my alarm at 9.30 p.m. as I wanted to wake up to do some housekeeping and watch the F1. But I just couldn't wake up.

I surfed the net for the F1 result and wondering whether Kimi could defend his title this year? Seems that Massa is better then Kimi huh.

1998 and 2008? What's the heck?

I still keeping my EPF registration form dated 8 July 1998. Wahhh!! I have already been working for 10 years since I left college.

I still remember that my first pay is RM750 per month as an audit assistant and the job is among the lowest paid jobs in the world. And the funny thing is that I have a college mate who got an offer of RM1,100 per month but he turned down the offer saying that it was too low. He ended up in my firm and getting the same pay like me.... hah hah.

With that kind of pay, basically there is not much left, after deducting EPF of 11%, for the kapchai's monthly installment, room rental, foods, sundry expenses and a little bit left for a movie or two, cloths and etc. When come to the end of year, I have to apply for "FAMA" loan (from parent lah, no need to pay back one) to pay for my membership's annual subscription in pounds costing RM1k plus. Talking about bonus? Yes, my first company did pay us bonus but we have to make it like an overtime payment. My boss will let us know the amounts and each of us need to fill up the overtime form. By doing this, my boss can save some $$$ on the EPF lor. Poor guy man. I wonder how to survive with that kind of money in 2008.

Also in 1998, DSAI was being arrested for sodomy charges and they did it again today (it's also in the 10th anniversary year) by arresting DSAI for the same charges. Heard from the news, it involves some UTK members wearing balaclava (Sai em sai arr???).

They have treated DSAI like a hardcore terrorist kot? All came in full prepared with commando gears? I think they want to show their muscles and let the rakyat know that don't mess with the policemen. So good, then go and catch all the criminals and illegals immigrants lah!.

When we are young, I believe some of you may have the ambition to become a policeman. Why? Their job is to provide security to the peoples and peoples respect them like a professional, wrong? Or is it because they can earn more moneys ar?

With RPK is also being arrested for charges, let us just sit back and watch the shows. Plus, smoking cigars like what RPK like to do.

Anwar-Shabery Debate

I watched the live debate on TV9. But only one hour where got enough? No ommph lah.

Anyway, TV3 is showing the repeat debate at 11.00 p.m. and they really censored the personal remark made by Shabery.

My opinion?

Anwar

So-so only la.

Shabery

Can go home and fly a kite for his personal attacks on Anwar. What a shame.

Beat the Roadblocks' Jams Game - July 14, 2008

I started my journey to work from Puchong to Bukit Damansara at 8.15 a.m.

Since the usual routes either from the LDP Highway to the Sprint Highway or from Puchong to Old Klang Road and Jalan Semantan will be jammed, I thought of taking an alternative route will be a great idea and I might avoid the jam as well!.

So, I decided to take the Elite Highway and N. K. V. E. instead of my usual routes. The moment I weaved into the N.K.V.E. toward Subang and Bandar Utama (B.U.), all the 3 lanes are full with cars. And I yelled in my heart, "f**k 'them' lah for giving so much of troubles". So, everybody has to crawl all the way, luckily, until the B.U. exit only. I didn't check the distance, but I think it's about 5 to 6 k.m. long. [Another damn lucky one] The traffic is moving slowly and it's took about 40 minutes to pass the B.U. exit. After the exit, the traffic is back to normal and I drove smoothly all the way until the Duta toll.

After I paid the toll, as I drove out from the toll booth, I saw a few "blue uniform guys" standing at the roadblock. They have closed the all the lanes into two. Very pity them because they need to stand under the sun by doing nothing. They just waved their hands and asked the cars to go thorough the roadblock. Luckily, there were not many cars at that time.

From Duta toll, I am sure there will be a jam at Jalan Duta toward the Parliament. So, no choice lor, got to use the Panchala Link and took the exit into Sri Hartamas. I reached my office at around 9.20 a.m. This is the first time I used 4 highways to go work and I didn't count the toll charges, probably RM5 kot?. An hour plus? Not bad after all.

Like what peoples said, the blue uniforms guys are now phobia with the words "illegal assembly". The moment they hear the words, they will start setting up the roadblocks at every corner of the city.

Why not you all go and catch all the criminals? It's easier to stand and doing nothing isit?

This must be our blue uniform guys' KPI for 2008. Well Done!!! Please do it more often ya, more bonus mah.

Not sure what's you guys think, for me, the roadblocks had turned into a game now and I called it "Beat the Roadblocks' Jams" game... hah hah. The logic? You try to compete with your colleagues or friends to find the shortest and/or longest routes to reach your destination in a shortest time as possible.

My Liquors Collection

I am supposed to finish up an assignment called the "Power of Influence" from one of the recent training provided by my Company by the end of this week. Basically, I need to write on how to apply those theories learned and put it in practice. Just don't have the right mode to do lah. @_@

Anyway, I want to blog about my liquors collection... heh heh

Hennesy V.S.O.P Cognac

Everyone is familiar with this liquor (40% alcohol in volume). You can almost find it at every Chinese wedding dinner. It's made up of a complex blend which reveals honeyed fruit flavors, scents of cleves and cinnamon spice.

Apart from drinking straight or add a little water or a few ice cubes, we can also make cocktails out of it.

Here is the famous one and I think is easier to make, Hennesy Moscow:
i. 3/4 oz Hennesy
ii. 1 slice of lemon
iii. White sugar
iv. Ice cubes

Absolut Vodka

This vodka is originated from southern Sweden with 40% alcohol in volume. We have to mix this spirit in order to enjoy the drink, cocktails style!!!

This is my mix:
i. Ice cubes
ii. Absolute Vodka
iii. Flavor agent = Whisky or Honey
iv. Filler = Cola / cranberry or raspberry juice / lemon juice / lemonade
v. Garnish = we can ignore this.. hah hah

Any volunteer want to taste the above mix? [Disclaimer: Drink at your own risk.]

Patrizi's Moscato D'Asti Wine

This is a wine style, low in alcohol, fruity and aromatic wine. Alcohol in volume is only 5.5%. It's looks like a sparkling wine.

Serving suggestion: to serve with Chinese or Japanese light and delicate cuisines including steamboat, seafood, starters, etc with chilled temperature. [Psst: Please remember to ask me to bring this along when we are going out for the next dinner. I am more than happy to open it.]

Note: I have just found out from the label that it was distributed by one of my former Companies where I had worked only for a month. But I couldn't recall whether it was bought before or after I have joined the Company. Hmmnn.. if I had knew it earlier I will......

Ricard's Partis

French's famous liquor, they called it as Partis. It's comes with 45% alcohol in volume and best served by adding 5 parts of water and 1 part of Richard, plus a few ice cubes. Very simple serving right?

Chivas Regal 12 Years Old Whisky

It has a renowned smoothness, a honeyed and fruit taste whisky. There are many ways to serve Chivas Regal 12, for the very simple ones:

i. Drink straight or add a little water or a few ice cubes.
ii. Mix with Coke and ice cubes.
iii. For the more complicated one, create your own cocktails by adding kiwi juice, lemon juice, lychee juice... bla bla bla. ^_^

Dewar's 12 Years Old Whisky

Dewar's 12 is rich and honeyed on the tongue and uses only 12 years old Scotch whiskies in its production. I bought two bottles during a promotion in May 2007.

Same serving like Chivas Regal.

Benedictine

I bought the Dom's Benedictine recently, two bottles to be exact. Benedictine (40% alcohol in vomue) is made up of 27 plants and spices which come from the four corners of the globe. Angelica, hyssop, juniper, myrrh, saffron, aloe, arnica, cinnamon…(the rest are closely guarded secret!) give Benedictine its unique flavour.

This is a healthy drink right? And we can make cocktails or mix it with fruit juices as well. The simple cocktail mix:
i. 1/5 Benedictine
ii. 4/5 Tonic or Soda
iii. A touch of lemon juice
iv. Ice cubes

Not only that, we can mix it in our Chinese cuisines like steamed prawns or chicken, stir-fried kailan with pork, etc. [Psst: I am hungry now]

The below looks familiar to you?

Yes, candies with Benedictine.

I still having the candies at home. I will bring it along for the next outing.

Nicol Ann David - The youngest Datuk in Penang

First of all, let us congratulate Nicole for her wonderful and outstanding achievement.

How many sportsmen or sportswomen from our country are being crowned world chump... err.. champ? You are talking about our national football team? What else? Can't really think of any. I have to say sorry lah because I don't really follow the national sports news except for a few where we are among the top of the world.

Anyway, I'm still thinking whether the Datukship is enough for Nicole?

Internet Connection - Slow like Turtles

Not sure what's wrong with my internet connection tonight. It's really damn slow. In fact, it's already in that miserable state for the past one week.

It's needs more than 10 minutes to download a 7.15MB file. And the download speed? 8.4kb/min... wtf lah

Yeah right!!!

You call this a broadband? Can I have my rebate? I want my REFUND back!!!

Energy-Boosting Tips

I came across an article on energy-boosting tips recently.

I have no problem of getting 30 minutes of exercise 3 times or more in a week. Neither drink plenty of water daily, eat breakfast nor reduce sugar from my diet, is a problem.

One thing that I find it most difficult to apply (I am not sure about you), please read below:

Yes, we have go to bed by 10.30pm every night!! WoW!!!

That's mean no more Grey's Anatomy, supper, surfing the internet, browsing my Facebook until the late night.... aarrrggghhhhh!!!!!

Well, I think it only applies to those retired senior citizens. What do you think? ^_^

Spend more because of a "cheap" thing

THIS IS NON-ADVERTORIAL. I DON'T GET PAID OKAY!

I bought this non-branded vacuum cleaner in Dec 2006 for RM199 ($62). By looking at the brand name, you know where I have bought this "Cyclone" vacuum cleaner. ^_^

On the product specifications, it comes with a plastic container (to save cost mah, no need to replace the dust bag) and 1400W. The rest are standard accessories.

The only complaint, the joint between the rubber hose and the handle had broken after using it for barely less than 15 months. niamah!!!

Actually, this brand comes with two years warranty. Only on the motor part. As for the accessories, I think need to replace it at your own cost lah (can someone tell me if it's otherwise).

I went to the departmental store to ask if I can buy or order a replacement for the hose. The sales girl explained that the store is no longer selling this brand. f#*K!!! "So? Where can I get the replacement?", I asked again. She's only staring at me with a "pig" brain.

Well, I can actually call the supplier of this vacuum cleaner to find out where to get the hose replacement. But, I have fed up with this "shit"!.

So, I drove all the way to 1U this evening to shop for a new vacuum cleaner. It took me about 45-minutes just to find an empty parking space. nimpeh. Imagine the amount of petrol used. "P.K." liao ^____^

By the way, who said the recent increased fuel price had changed peoples lifestyles? There are still many peoples in the mall, err... loitering. hah hah

Back to my new vacuum cleaner, after surveying for about an hour, I have chosen the Electrolux brand for my new vacuum cleaner. It's called "Cyclonic Lite Bagless" vacuum cleaner and cost me RM399 ($124). (That "cheap" thing is called Cyclone. I wonder who-copy-who... hmmm).

Both have the commonality i.e. plastic dust container except that the Cyclonic Lite has 1600W and telescopic integrated wand system.

Well, looks like another busy weekend ahead. Hope that this new "baby" will not disappoint me. As for the "Cyclone" vacuum cleaner -> "RIP"!!!

Is anyone free this weekend and wanna help?.... LOL ^_^

What is Life?

Have you ever think of 'What is life'?

How do you define life?
A search on the dictionary, it defines life as "The characteristic state or condition of a living organism" or "An account of a person's life; a biography". Well, these are only two of the many definitions.

To me, life is about "enjoying every moment of life". Whether you're watching your favorite TV shows, having a wholesome meals, surfing the internet, sleeping, rushing to finish up a report for your boss, talking with your buddies and etc. That's the life's road.

Some peoples have an easy path in their life. No worry about moneys, foods, cloths or shelters. Others, who are not so lucky one, need to think about all those things.

Well, we all have a commonality i.e. to enjoy the journey of life!!!. ^_^
