My BD pressie

I received this package on my BD from a fren from the North. A fren & also an ex-housemate that I have lost contact since she left college. We keep in touch again in end 2009 through another ex-housemate that I found her through FB.

I have yet to unwrap the pressie but I have already knew what's inside the pressie. Something for the hair * winks.. winks...* haha :)

Went to watch a movie too - Knight & Day. Yup.. I like the movie.. funny & action packed.

a PB

This is my finisher medal from the 2010 SCKL Half Marathon. I completed the run with a PB of 2:08.

Another hard earned medal.

Hopefully, I am ready for the FM next year (fingers crossed).

It's coming ! My 2nd HM

27 June 2010

2010 SCKLHM is my 2nd HM for 2010. My target is to finish it less than 2:15 hrs. Gosh! Can I do it? Well, I have more buddies running the half marathon this round. Some are first timers and the other are regulars. Hopefully, I can get a PB.

Gambateh ! ! !

The running kit.

I think the quality of the NB running vest is not bad.

I got these facial cleaners from the promoters at the entrance (Stadium Titiwangsa).

30% discount voucher for NB products. Valid for 30 days from the issued date: 23 June 2010.

I bought this pair of NB sock (dri-fit) for RM18.00 at the NB booth. The ori price is RM38.00.

Camping at Gunung Nuang

I went to Gunung Nuang for the 3rd time (2nd time for 2010) on 12 June 2010. There are 6 of us, 4 guys and 2 girls.

This round, we are not going to conquer Gunung Nuang in one day, but we are going to camp 1 night at Kem LoLo. I brought along a tent which I got from BonusLink using the points redemption.

We reached the Nuang entrance around 9.30am. After we parked our cars, we quickly get our stuff and get ready to start the walk - 'The Never Ending Road' - by 10.00am.

We took close to 2 hours to reach the last rest hut near the river. All the guys carry about 17kgs to 19kgs of loads. This has slowed us down. Some more, it starts to rain half way through The Never Ending Road. So, we got to take a rest at some of the huts. We expect it going to rain but not so early.

Some of our backpacks do not have rain cover. So, we got to use plastic bag as a rain cover. I'm using a huge rubbish bag as a rain cover for my backpack... haha...

We reached Kem LoLo about 1.00pm and we quickly setup our tents. At that time, the rain has stopped already.

This is my tent. The cover says it's a 2-people tent. However, it just enough for myself and my backpack.. lol...

Luckily Lew bought a tent, same as mine. Else, I really dunno how to share my tent with Lew.

This is a 4-people tent - occupied by the 2 girls.

After setting up all the 4 tents, we cook some sardines with onions and eggs. We ate it with breads as a simple lunch.

Around 5.00pm, we went to the river to bathe. The river is nearby to our tents, about 15m from our tents.

The water is very cold as it was raining earlier on.

We 'lepak-ing' at the river for almost 1 hour. Then, we went back to our tents and quickly prepare our dinner before it gets dark.

Here are our dinner - Choy sum, canned curry chicken, luncheon meat, potatoes, eggs and paku-pakis and rice off course.

We start eating around 7.15pm.

After we have washed and cleaned up our stuff, we went for a short jungle walk around Kem LoLo with our headlights. We even tried to setup fire. However, the branches are too wet. Anyway, we went back to our tents after it started to rain cats and dogs around 10.00pm. I didn't get a sound sleep probably because I don't get use to camping life... lol...

We woke up around 7.00am something the next day. We had sardines, red beans, fried eggs and bread for breakfast.

At 8.45am, 5 of us decided to hike to Kem Pacat and summit. The other one is staying back to look after the tents.

I took about 2 hours to reached the summit. We didn't stay long at the summit because we need to rush down as one of our friends got to rush home to attend wedding dinner. We rested about 15 minutes at the summit.

Luckily, I didnt wear my usual Admiral hiking shoe because we expect it going to rain. I wear my cheap and trusted... Kampong Adidas shoe.

After we had our late lunch - instant noodles - we quickly removed our tents and pack our stuffs to go back home.

Ninja's pose... =.=

Finally, we say bye bye to Kem LoLo and we left around 4.00pm.

SPI-Belt

I just bought a new Small Personal Item or SPI-Belt for Rm75.00. I use it mainly to hold my mobile phone and energy gels when I go running.

Prior to SPI-Belt, I use to put the mobile phone, car key and IC into an arm pouch. I find the arm pouch is a bit too small to put the mobile phone in. Anyway, I still carry the arm pouch to hold my ID, money and car key.

The good thing about this belt is that it does not bounce and it hold those stuff tightly on my hip.

My mobile phone fits nicely into the expandable pocket.

Running is not a cheap sport and I have few other things to buy... hu hu...

My friend sent this hair cream to me yesterday by courier from Butterworth. I received the mail this morning... woah! Darn fast! This is a hair blackening cream.. lol

She got the sample from her friend.

The special thing about this cream is that it has no chemical composition. It claims that it consists of mainly Chinese medicine essence and herbs. With 20ml, I wonder whether it can do the magic to blacken my hair... lol

Anyway, I really appreciate that my friend who took the trouble to send it to me :)

By the way, I have stopped applying this Zam Zam thingy... haha...

Self LSD Training

Finally, I'm back to my running training since the New Balance Pacesetters 15Km on 16 May 2010. My left knee seems to getting better each day. I have started training on last Saturday.

I need to get back to shape as I'm preparing for the coming Standard Chartered KL Half Marathon on 27 June 2010. I have my target to break ie 2 hr 15 min 45 sec. Hopefully, my left knee can recovers in time.

It's very hard to find a running buddy to training together on weekdays except on weekends. So far, I have yet to reach 21Km in my own training.

Anyway, I'm not going to give up and I will continue to train to reach the 21Km on my own.

My new running shoe - NB MR1225

I am desperate to get a new running shoe after my old Reebok shoe has been worn out. Luckily, the old Reebok shoe managed to survive the New Balance Pacesetters 15K run on 16 May 2010 :)

On 23 May 2010, I went to the N-Concept Store at The Garden with another 3 friends to shop for new running shoes. We borrowed the N-Concept member from another friend to enjoy discount of 30% on all NB products.

However, the lucky star is on our side, the NB store is giving additional 10% discount for N-Concept members for that week.

The original price for MR1225 is RM429.00. The discounted price is RM257.40. This is the most expensive running shoe I have ever bought in my life :|

At first, I wanted to choose the Black & Red color shoe. However, they don't have my size (US 11). Anyway, my friends said they like this color very much.. the Green color is more sharp :)
