This is my second post on Sg Lembing trip ~ former underground tin mining town.
Not far from the town, one can easily see a signboard to direct to the ex-mining area. During the old days, I think there are more entrance points to the underground tin mining area. I believe many of the entrance points have already been disappeared in the thick bushes or being closed by the local authority.
# Entrance 1 and 2. These two entrances are quite big. I am not sure how far the mining workers got to walk to reach the lift to bring them down to the mining tunnels.
# Entrance 4 ~ This is the smallest and can only fit, roughly, for two persons - side by side.Sg Lembing is also famous for it's roasted pork. If you want more details, please read Axian's (Taste with Jason ~ Astro) blog here.
# Why Axian called it as "Saturday Night Roasted Pork Fever'? Because siu yuk lovers can only buy Ah Ting's siu yuk on every Saturday's night... hah hah
# Now... this is the bricks oven to roast the pork. Just take a look at the colour man....
# We ordered for 1kg (RM34.00) of Ah Ting's siu yuk. Eat till you drop. The meat are very juicy and tender when still hot.
# Sg Lembing Ah Ting's Roasted Pork. Visitors to Sg Lembing can call in to order in advance. Ah Ting's house is one of the biggest in Sg Lembing.Sg Lembing is a very small town and houses are located at the two sides of Lembing river. In order for the people to travel to the town, one need to use the suspension bridge. It's very common in Sg Lembing.
# Kolong Pahat's suspension bridge. It located about 1km from the town.
# The owner is busy cleaning the kitchen area.
# One can buy the Sg Lembing mee for only RM2.80 per packet (1kg).
# The shop owner also sell honey. I bought the royal jelly for RM48.00 only!!!!Lastly, don't forget to visit the Sg Lembing's coconut cracker shop. This shop appeared in the Taste with Jason ~ Astro's program as well.
# You can many things at the shop ~ coconut crakers, honey and tongkat ali.
Next post: Sg Lembing's Panorama Hill.
